AUTOMOBILE MAGAZINE NAMES THE 2009 NISSAN GT-R “AUTOMOBILE OF THE YEAR”
The 2009 Nissan GT-R was named “2009 Automobile of the Year” by Automobile Magazine in an announcement released late yesterday. The GT-R received top honors from the magazine out of four awards given, including “Design of the Year,” “Man of the Year,” and “Technology of the Year.”
In a press release issued by Automobile, the magazine’s president and editor-in-chief, Jean Jennings said, “for decades, previous versions of the GT-R were never exported to the United States . Now we know what we've been missing, and are we happy to be invited to the party. What we love about the GT-R is that it refuses to compromise. It is not comfortable, it is not trying to make friends and it is not trying to influence people. It exists for one reason only -- to go fast -- and it does. ”
The Automobile Magazine “2009 Automobile of the Year” award presentation will take place on November 19 during the Los Angeles Auto Show.
